The evidence was considered yesterday in Executive Council, and after hearing the Acting Attorney-General who explained his views at some length, the Council unanimously agreed that there was sufficient presumption of the guilt of the accused to warrant his surrender to the Chinese Officer who was deputed to receive him. The usual undertaking that the prisoner would not be tortured was given by the Viceroy of the Two Kiang, and recorded. Deep: N°29%
The prisoner will be handed over in a few days, after his evidence has been taken in another extradition case in which a subpoena has been served on him by the defence.
